I just found a shrew and I need some help

I found a shrew and I want to know more about them it looks kinda small and maybe a baby (I don't know) what do they eat and where how should I keep it?

  1. turn him loose, not a pet. Shrew tend to be small, he is probably an adult. He is better off on his own. He doesn't want to be in a cage any more than you do.


  2. Warning! SHREWS ARE VENOMOUS! They also have very high metabolisms. They need TWICE their weight in food PER DAY!! They are insectivores so you need to feed them a lot of bugs & worms. Adult shrews are tiny, only a couple of inches in length. Do that little critter a favour, & turn it loose! Don't worry about his welfare in the wild, he'll be OK. Shrews have a well-deserved reputation for being TOUGH! What doesn't kill them, they eat!

  3. i don't know but if you keep them they usually die. so set free or if nothing's wrong with it, tame it ..i don't know why. but i have found 1 before which the cat had had .i left it alone in the dark...it died of shock
