I live in Ontario, Canada and I just found a little tiny reddish orange spider crawling all over my desk. It is so tiny, maybe the size of a pin head! I've seen them since I was a little girl and usually on picnic tables or on the concrete. I was wondering if this is a spider mite, and what exactly is a spider mite? Will it grow up to be a big spider? And, (sorry), finding one on my desk does this mean that there could be a nest or something in my house? Thanks sorry for the billions of questions in one!

  1. Haha these are nothing to worry about, usually you see them crawling on bricks, most likely the little thing came in on a piece of your clothing or your shoe, no it won't get any bigger, they're tiny little creatures. And yes there are probably many outside your house, but nothing to worry about.

  2. I see those too.  All I know is that it will NOT grow up into a big spider, don't worry.  They're harmless as far as I know.

  3. spider mites stay that size and eat your plants voraciously....kill it  (and i rarely say that, mozzi's and wasps only)
