Yesterday I went to the doctor to confim my Pregnancy. I am about 6 weeks but Monday at the OBGYN I will hopefully get an exam to verify. When am I in the clear? I know these are questions I can google or ask Monday but I want to ask woman with experience. What can I do to keep my baby safe? When am I in the clear? Did anyone have slight cramping here and there when they were first pregnant? Thank you for any answers you can all give me!

  1. i just found out that i was 6 weeks pregnant also congrats. i had slight cramping myself it seems to be subsiding. i think they hear the heartbeat around 10 wks i am told after 12 wks things should be ok as long as you eat right and rest. good luck we should keep each other posted.

  2. during the first trimester is when most miscarriages happen if they are going to. and after 24 weeks your chances that the baby will survive go up a bit and after 28 they go up to 80-90% percent and get better with each passing day

    congrats!

  3. cramps are normal,takevitamins and folic acid,eat healthy,milk ,and fruits,rest a lot ,no stress,no alcohol,dont lift heavy things,drink a lot of water,

  4. In the clear from what?

  5. Slight cramping is very normal, it is just your body stretching to make room for the baby to grow. Your risk for miscarriage goes down immensely after the 12 week mark. The best thing you can do for your child is quit smoking and or drinking if you do either, start taking your pre-natal vitamins, see the doctor regularly, and try to eat as healthy as possible. Good luck to you!

  6. Huh????

Do you mean when can you be certain that everything is and will be fine with the pregnancy and birth?

The answer to that is:  about 15 minutes after the baby is born.

  7. They usually say after 12 weeks the percentage for misscarriage goes down dramatically. Just get alot of rest, eat good, plenty of water, cut out most caffeine and bad habits like smoking.  --In the beginning of my pregnancy I always had cramping, it's just your uterus growing. Congratulations & good luck!

  8. Slight cramping is normal--I actually had a few light "periods" but everything was OK. To keep your baby safe: take care of yourself. YOU are his/her nursery. Eat healthy foods and drink lots of fluids. Stay away from caffeine, alcohol, tobacco, and drugs. Your doctor will tell you what kind of over the counter medicine you can take if necessary. Get lots of exercise.  You should start to feel good in the 2nd trimester. As far as "when am I in the clear"--do you mean when can you stop worrying about your baby? Not any time soon: my babies are 20 and 23, and I still worry about them a lot!
