I just went to the doctor and they said i have HPV. I don't have the warts kind but the one that causes cancer. My DR told me I don't have to worry abt my bf bec it's not warts. Can he get this type of warts? If he does'nt have it, should we use protection?

  1. I'm going to leave you a link that I think will help you. Be sure and read through it. I think you will have a better understanding of how HPV works.

In the meantime, it's probably a good idea for you and your boyfriend to make a date to go and get tested for STDs so that both of you will know what you're dealing with.

Why  not hold off on s*x until you get it figured out? (At least for now) Once you get it figured out, you can decide together how best to proceed.

There's nothing wrong with using condoms but remember they are not 100% effective in preventing STDs OR pregnancy for that matter.

    Good Luck..

  2. That was a dumbas* question. Of course you should ALWAYS use protection, under any circumstances.

  3. I have HPV. High Risk HPV. I have precancerous cells. I dont believe the kind that give warts...if i did i think the doctor would of already told me. Well your BF is now a carrier of HPV. Since ya dont have the kind that give you warts. But he has to use protection for any future women (sorry had to say this i know you dont wanna think about this). Honestly there is no point to use protection since both of ya are infected. Just be glad that you dont have the type that give you cervical cancer. I have to go every 3 months for the next 5 years to keep an eye on it. Wish you the best.

  4. of course you should use protection. you should have known that before you started messing around and you wouldnt be in this mess

  5. If you have already slept with your boyfriend without a condom then he is already exposed to it, though HPV can be transmitted even when using a condom.  If you don't have the low risk wart type then you/he shouldn't get warts though it depends on the numbers you get 16/18 are the high risk type but there are others (there are a few websites that give you the breakdown of what each number is). I don't know why the doctor told you not to worry about your boyfriend, although the chances for men getting penile cancer from this are not nearly as high as they are for women to get cervical there is still that chance.  Just as there is the chance that anyone you may have s*x with in the future can get it from you.  At this point though you should be using condoms as it is safer for you.  You should also keep all your appointments and make sure to do the procedures and follow doctors orders. Good luck
