  1. PLEASE nip this in the butt now i would do the i know what your up to you had better stop or tell mom or dad. and when he does not stop tell them please. Once you are addicted it is very very hard to quit. I speak to you out of experience i am  a 23m i started at 15 and i have tried to quit several times and have so far not been able to. I do not have many regrets  in life but starting smoking is one of them. Also doing some math here i have spent 12288 dollars or so since i started i could have a house right now had i taken that and put it in an account. It affects your heath and finances so do your brother a favor and make sure he stops

  2. hey just try to keep it to yourself or put a cigarette on a table and let parents find it then they will think someone is smoking and go through your stuff and since your clean of cigaretts they will look through brothers stuff and find a box and all that and know it was him.....you didnt rat him out so he has no right to be mad at you! and also u could just try to convense him that smoking is bad and kills you and your lungs and he might quit and nobody get mad in trouble or hurt!

  3. Either he can die from lung cancer, or get in BIG trouble. Your choice.

BTW, It illegal to smoke tobacco if you're under 18.

  4. There really is nothing you can do. He's not going to listen to you any more than he would listen to your parents. So my advice would be to chill -- it's his life and he's going to live it the way he wants to.

  5. beat the living c**p out of him, and tell your parents. Seriously your brother is slowly killing himself, and its not doing him any good by just hiding it from your parents. He needs help or you can contribute to his slow painful death he will endure because you wanted to be a good sister.

  6. well if he is smoking then you can smell it on his clothes. Phew, it stinks. Then confront him and tell him if he doesnt quit you are going to tell your parents.

  7. very bad time to take up smoking. At 14, you brother's lungs are still developing. The rapidly dividing cells raises his 3 year cancer risk to about 50% if he smokes a pack a day.

Tell your parents. The odds are 50/50 he gets lung cancer inside 3 years.

  8. If he is hiding the cigs, he probably is just experimenting and will stop soon on his own.

You could drop a hint about why he shouldn't smoke and make it something meaningful to him.  Like, if he participates in some sport or is really into some sports hero or team, mention that athletes don't smoke. If he is interested in girls, tell him girls don't like guys who smoke.  Or, if he is trying to save money to buy a car or ipod or something, mention how expensive cigarettes are.

  9. hate to say it but u dont want to do anything i started smoking at age 7 and my parents found out and got on to me of course but all that did was make me want to do it all the more ive now been smoking for 11 years  believe me when i say u dont want to tell on him i agree with one of the others hint to him that he needs to quit like get on the internet and look up pics of tobacco usage never let him know that u know it will be better if u dont so that he wont think u are trying to make him stop just go to yahoo and click the images below the search and search for effects of tobacco usage

  10. Just for all of you that are saying he is experimenting ... Yes this maybe true however i started smoking at 13 and I'm now nearly 18 and I'm still smoking.

Don't worry about him going mad at you just tell him you were looking for a calculator when you found his cigarettes .. i know this may sound hypercritical but he really should try and stop now before he is properly addicted.

I have been smoking nearly 5 years now and i have tried quitting so many times but i just can't do it.

Try and get him to pack it in before its too late .. however if you tell your parents and they ground him or however they may go about punishing him it may do the opposite to what they want .. because all teenagers rebel against what their parents say .. the more you tell him to stop the more he will smoke so go about it in a tactful way.

I hope this helps and good luck.

  11. Whether he will hate you or not, it will only be temporary. He will thank you in the long run when hes older to understand and more mature about the situation.
