I just found out recently that my aunt has cancer, and I wanted to make her a gift. Any unique/creative ideas?

She might not have much time, and is starting chemo soon. I was thinking a scrapbook, but I don't have many pictures. If anyone has any other helpful ideas I'd appreciate it! I'm just not sure what I can do. I'm not very creative, but I want to give it my all and really do something special for her.

  1. Oh I am sorry...

You could make a video of friends and family saying that they are always going to be there for her through out chemo.  Like each person says something different.  I'd really like that

  2. you could try making her a necklace of gemstones, it'll be cheap, quick and simple, and you can choose which gemstones you use for either their colour, shape or their properties, ie a necklace of haematite, which is supposed to help cleanse the blood and remove negative thoughts :)

you can get real gemstones with holes already drilled in from places like hobbycraft.

    hope it helps

  3. There is something called a Knifty Knitter which is "cheating knitting" I use it when I am out of time and can not knit and you can make a cap easy! Make her something stylish to cover her head if she is undergoing chemo. You can also make scarves from it.

You can also make easy felt blankets/pillows - buy the fabric and you can tie the ends together. I put a link below to what it looks like - you can print it out take it to a craft store and they will show you how easy it is to make.

I hope your aunt has a recovery and the cancer goes into remission, I will keep you in my prayers.

If you need more craft ideas or links please feel free to email, KmR_414@yahoo.com - Best Wishes.

  4. You should write a handmade letter about how you enjoyed her company and that she was a good aunt. Maybe some flowers and an enthusiastic hug. And just try to stay with her as long as you can before Chemo. Just show you love her and that is pretty much the best you can do for now.

  5. If you have one picture of her and you, get it turned into a wall sticker so she can hang it up and look at it....

Good Luck and sorry about your aunt.

  6. It doesn’t need many pictures to make a scrapbook. Maybe you can get inspiration from :http://www.photo-to-dvd.com/photo-collag... That website includes many cute and fun scrapbook samples. Or try to make your aunt a photo slideshow. More ideas : http://www.photo-to-dvd.com/special-offe...

  7. Well you can make her a huge poster board get well card or just simply "i'm thinking about you" All it takes is a poster board of the color of your choice, construction paper, stickers, etc. From there, it's all up to you. You can have the family sign it, expressing their feelings or memories.

Along with that, you can also (if you have the ambition and time) round up some pictures from the family (ask the family for old pictures or anything they might have) and scan them to make copies and make a collage of the entire family ( i.e nieces, nephews, brothers, etc) and put it on a sturdy board where she can hang it up and see it everyday. This will let her know everyone is behind her. Thats just an idea.

If you don't have alot of pictures, start taking some! I'm sure the family wouldn't mind and would be glad to participate.

Good luck and everything will be okay.

  8. Take her to tea, for a walk through a botanical garden, on a picnic, out for a boat ride, anything that is time given. She would cherish those things most of all and so will you if she passes away.

  9. You got the pictures part right.  It's always a good idea to gift picture / photo gifts for this type of occasion.  One thing that hasn't failed me yet is Frameagram from http://www.frameagram.com , it works for a number of different occasions and everybody was very happy to receive them.  Good luck!

  10. how about you & the family get together, & make a memory quilt, like, get some pics & print them on fabric, & sew it into the quilt
