Question:

I just found out that I don't have much longer to live. I'm agnostic and it's not fair. Wow...?

So I have a terminal disease. Wonderful. Moving on- I'm agnostic and I've always stood behind that my entire. However, now, I can't help but question religion. More than half of the population is religious. Right? Surely they must be right. How the h**l am I supposed to know what's going to happen after I die? What the h**l am I supposed to do now? Why do I have to die and everyone else has this thing called 'TIME' where they can later decide to put their faith into some holy deity so they don't have to suffer? Where is MY time?

I have about a month to make up my mind. I'm sure I can change my mindset by then. Maybe a little hypnotizing or better yet, brainwashing will do the trick. :)

  1. ...enjoy the month as best you can...good luck...

  2. Hey hey hey, I'm hoping you are not serious, and if your are prescribed as terminal, all hope is not lost. The worst you can do is panic and raise your anxiety and blood pressure.

Be calm, relax completely. You can think yourself better. I know many friends who have literally thought positive and cured themselves, and others resigned and fearful have died of common colds.

You can beat anything, cancer, debilitating disease, anything. You simply have to believe it to be possible and it will be.

Power of Thought. Good health and longevity.

  3. "There are no atheists (or agnostics) in the fox hole."

"You get what everyone gets, you get a life."

Brainwashing and preaching isn't going to work.  It doesn't work on guys like you and me.  You need to come to it on your own.  Talk to priests, not evangelicals and holy rollers, but a a true holy man; a catholic priest or rabbi is a good idea.  Maybe a theology professor at a university.

You'll need religion without all the magic.

Find a friend and talk to them about it.  Find someone you can explore it with; a friend or a loved one.

More importantly focus on living, not dying.  If you're seious and only have a little time left, focusing on the death part is going to be a drag.

Use all that energy to fight the ailment.  Don't die.

  4. u should go do stuff   u  always wanted take pics  vids just enjoy ur self..

i know  its not fair    lifes a game   eveything happens for a reason

  5. Well that sucks. I don't think Religion is going to do anything for you, I know I couldn't force myself to believe anything in a month. Better off convincing yourself that You Are God, and do what whatever you want after you die. No religion is 'right', all the paths lead to the same place.

    ...maybe there is a shortcut.

  6. Be strong in spirit remain happy don't let your immunity be lowered by angst of fear, you will pull through.

Survival rates for diagnosed terminal illnesses are low because the patient loses heart, the relatives and friends about them becomes disheartened and this is absorbed by the one unwell.

Forewarned is forearmed, keep all happy and smiling about you, laughter is the best medicine for a speedy cure. May heavens light watch over you and make you well and whole and well again.

Good Health, Longevity, Love Peace and Blessings.

  7. I hope this it not a real life situation but if it is I'm not going to tell you that I'm really sorry as most people in your situation hate to hear those comments.

Just remember that 200 years ago over 50% of the population might have been racist and 200 years ago people didn't know simple facts like the earth is rounded, etc, so that doesn't really prove anything, the herd is usually wrong.

And yes, unfortunately life is not fair, but why do you want to believe in something you never did. If you're an agnostic that's who you are, enjoy your last days and whatever happens after you die it's just going to happen and you and I both know that it's high improbable that this is going to depend on you being hypnotized or brainwashed.

  8. You were given a brain at birth to decide what you wanted to believe and what you didn't want to believe.  If you chose to believe that there is not God, so be it.  If there is a God, then he/she knows that you were making your own decision and won't hold it against you.  If you have been kind and trustworthy, you really don't have anything to worry about.  If you have been mean and cruel, you may have something to worry about, but in all, no one really knows for sure what is after death, so we all have to wait and find out.

  9. Become christian, repent in your sins, and accept Jesus as your personal saviour.

  10. A month is not a lot of time but it only takes a minute to decide to accept God and worship. You will survive by faith.

You can know what lies ahead. Through The Urantia Papers and I can guide you to what ever knowledge you wish.

Urantia is an ancient name for Earth.

    5. The Urantia Papers. The papers, of which this is one, constitute the most recent presentation of truth to the mortals of Urantia. These papers differ from all previous revelations, for they are not the work of a single universe personality but a composite presentation by many beings. But no revelation short of the attainment of the Universal Father can ever be complete. All other celestial ministrations are no more than partial, transient, and practically adapted to local conditions in time and space. While such admissions as this may possibly detract from the immediate force and authority of all revelations, the time has arrived on Urantia when it is advisable to make such frank statements, even at the risk of weakening the future influence and authority of this, the most recent of the revelations of truth to the mortal races of Urantia.

  11. I believe that whatever you believe is just a way of looking at things.  Either it works or it doesn't.  No one can say wether evolution, or God, or magnetic fields or anything are actual, physical reailities or just useful concepts.  Nothing can be proven to be true under all conditions and circumstances.  Absolute truth cannot be known.  All you know is wether what you believe works for you or not, wether it helps you in your life and your happiness.  That's it.

And yeah, it's not fair.  Only having a month to live sucks, no matter how you slice it.  All you can do is make the best of the one month you have.  This is your month.  Don't live it for anyone except you.  Do whatever makes you happy.

  12. Isn't it amazing how death can make us question religion?

My heart goes out to you for your situation.  I admire your strength and ability to keep your sense of humor.

It seems religion only exists to make our own existence a little less depressing sometimes.  It gives us this faith that our lives have this bigger meaning in the universe and that death is only the beginning of a wonderful afterlife in the kingdom of somewhere wonderful.

I think you should consider it an adventure.

Make it a challenge that you must have the courage to accept and conquer with the braveness of a hero and confidence of king.

You will not lose the battle with death, it will not defeat you.

I wish you the best of luck.

  13. G I have seen many people overcome terminal disease without relying on miracles or paying for the teaching. My email is open.
