I just found out that my nephew has muscular dystrophy. How can I help the parents during this difficult time?

  1. Learn as much as you can about the disease and what's required to care for him. Offer to babysit occasionally so they can take a break ( they're going to be wrung out emotionally and physically).  Remember he's still a kid, not a disease. Be his favorite uncle and spend time with him. Take part in fund-raisers and walks.


  2. ask them can you help with ANYTHING and comfort the boy

  3. Just be there for them.  Lots of support.
