  1. Usually you need 6-12 months to get a score. Manage it responsibly and you will get a fair score.

  2. Use the card every month and pay it in full when the statement comes.  It will take at least 6 months before you have any score.  It won't be very high.

Don't obsess over your score.  You build up a good score by paying all your bills on time.  You need at least 24 months of consistent, on time payment history to see a decent score.

  3. Within a few months your score will be updated to reflect your credit card.

  4. That will depend on when your credit card reports to the credit bureau. You will want to give it 3 to 6 months of reporting.

  5. Who told you that you didn't have a score? You've got your card, they've made their decision based on some kind of score. If you had any credit accounts before, such as a phone in your name, utilities, or a cosigned credit account with your name on it, you probably already had a credit history of some kind.

Now, since it may be weak (and it sounds like you are not sure about it), before you try applying for any other credit line besides this card, I would suggest that you wait for at least 6 months. Your credit score is probably not at its peak now because you just had a credit inquiry by applying for a card.
