  1. It's not a good idea.  I don't know how large your parrot fish are, but they have sawing teeth, and could injure the baby turtles by nipping eyes, legs, etc. (providing the fish aren't large enough to swallow the turtle whole).

In nature - the bigger fish eats the little turtle, or the bigger turtle eats the little fish.  These are 'natural enemies,' so to speak, and do not cohab.  They view each other as dinner.

And that little plastic box container might have been large enough to carry them home in, but it's not suitable for a habitat.  You can't provide the proper water temperature, basking temperature, and UVB light they need.  You'd cook them in there, and I'm sure you don't want to end up with turtle and fish soup!

Your turtles will need a proper diet, too, and babies grow quickly.  If you'd like a basic diet for them, shoot me an e-mail to oxo_sensual_oxo@yahoo.com.

You should always do your homework before getting the animal, and be aware of its present and changing needs as it grows.

I'll post some links below to get you started on your quest to learn how to become a good RES owner.

An informed owner is a happy one with healthy and content pets.

Good luck with the lil guys, and I hope this has been helpful.

  2. Aren't Parrotfish a salt-water species? RES are definitely a fresh water species. Also, Parrotfish can easily eat the little things.

It is just not a good idea to mix most species.

  3. Not a good idea. The little turtles are very carnivorous and will chase the fish and even nip at them. The babies need a basking area, anyway, and the water doesn't need to be so deep.just put them in their own tank with a UV light, basking rock or log,and feed  them Repto-Min sticks, baby guppies, worms, etc.

  4. There is always a big chance the turtle could get the fish.

But in your situation, I would put them together.,

I get fish for my tank, and at first my turtles will chase after them, but if they dont get them in like the first hour, they leave the fish alone and they never attack the fish again.

So if you want the turtles to have a better home, i would out them in with the fish.
