  1. Are you using DSL or Cable Internet?

    For Cable Internet,

If you had your regular PSTN telephone line disconnected when you subscribed to Vonage, then you can disconnect your PSTN phone line from the telephone "demarcation jack" where the main telephone line comes into your house from outside world.  Once you "internal phone lines" are no longer connected to the outside world (at demarcation jack), then you can connect your Vonage ATA adapter output to one of your available existing house phone jack.  As all telephone lines in the house are connected in parallel, then you can use all other phone jacks in the house to now connect to your Vonage service.

    For DSL Internet service,

You cannot disconnect the outside phone line at demarcation jack because your DSL Internet rides on the same wires as as PSTN phone (even if PSTN service is no longer used - i.e. Naked DSL or Dry Loop).  If you disconnect outside line, you will also lose Internet.

In this case, if you had a cordless phone with 5 extension cordless phones, then just plug the wireless base unit into Vonage ATA phone adapter output jack.

  2. Individual phones in wall jacks will not work. If you purchased your phones as a set of 2 or 3, then your Main phone goes into computer, your other  phones go to Any electric outlet. No phone wires involved.

I have a Panasonic KX-TG1033S.It came as a set of 3 phones. Main phone and the only one with a telephone input goes to computer, the other 2 phones have no provision for phone input...they go to any electrical outlet where I want phones.

PS I got Vonage 6 days ago.

PS again, if all of your phones are independent of one another, then the only workable phone will be the one plugged in to your computer.
