  1. it could be valves, spark plug etc....2004 crf's are really bad for valves

  2. First thing you need to do is have the valve clearance checked, regardless of whether you have starting problems or not. Anyone buying a used 4 stroke race bike should do this before they ever start riding. If that is okay you just need to get used to how the pumper carb works. On my CRF I give it one big twist on the throttle to full open and then a quick twist to about half throttle (choke on) and it starts right up. Be sure not to give any throttle while trying to start it. A a matter of fact you should actually move you right hand off of the grip just to be sure you don't accidentally hit the gas.

  3. For the bike to start:

The key must be in the ignition

The bike must be in neutral (indicated by its ability to roll forward and backward without resistance or throttle)

do not use the throttle while kickstarting

do not immediately kick downwards right from the moment your foot touches the starter. instead find the point of resistance where it is harder for you to move the lever downwards. that's where you really start kicking.

there's a few other things with the choke to warm up the bike so it doesn't stall (turn off) but i don't really know the details.

  4. first things first, did you buy this bike used? was it well taken care of?

you might want to have the valves looked at, because Honda's are known for bad valves. Have them sheck the wear and clearances.

secondly, you might want to tear apart your carb. Cleaning out the carb will get any cloggs out of the jets causing hard starting....

third, you might want to clean the air filter. sounds funny, but a bike will start easily with a clean air filter element.

while you have it all apart, look at all the wiring, make sure all grounds are tight and rust free. make sure all connections are clean and tight....

Lastly, change out the spark plug.....

  5. when u go to kick it over take your hand completly off the throttle and have the choke on as well if cold..

  6. The most common problem for a Honda is that the car starts then when you turn the engine off it does not start again until several hours later. Another problem is that when the weather is either cold or hot it will start.

You should check the main relay.

This controls the fuel that is injected into the car.

It should be located on the drivers side under the dashboard and has the words Main Relay written on it, right next to the fuses.

Examine the relay and see if there are cracks in the wire joints or sold er. If there are sod er them back to getter of replace it .

If is fails check could be spark plug but i need more description in the question.
