I just got a 2006 honda 400ex. i have about $1500 to spend. what can i get to make it as fast as possible?

I know nothing about quads, but i need more power and more speed. if anyone, preferably a professional or a mechanic, knows how to help me out, please do so. thanks

You can also get a 440 big bore kit. I think they cost around eight hundred bucks. Be carefull and do some homework on the shop you take it to because if the kit isnt put in properly it wil blow out head gaskets constantly.

you could get a full exhaust and jet kit, look into high performance camshafts, and actually timing the cams as well, there are numerous things you can do. But you said you know nothing about quads so I'm guessing you wouldn't know how to install or fine tune any of these products. So I would suggest taking it to your local shop and have them perform any work you want done. They will also be able to help you determine any upgrades that would be practical for your specific model

If you know nothing about quads, than the last thing you need is more power and more speed.

Exhaust is the best bang for your buck upgrade to do..  But you would have been better off getting a 450..
