I just got a Check for 3,000 from someone I don't know.?

How can i know for sure that this check won't bounce before I cash it. Is there any way whatsoever to know before i cash it.

I woulnd't have taken a personal check. I would have wanted a cashiers check, But just take it to the bank and tell them with is going on, they will work with you.

Bring it to your bank and ask them to run a check on the account.

Oh come on!

You get a check sent to you from a stranger....you didn't sell anything or do anything to earn it....

And you ask us if it's legit?

By all means...run to the bank and cash it.  It's like playing the lottery, isn't it?

Dont cash it ...its a fake   maybe designed to get your bank account number and steal you money !!

NEVER EVER CASH CHECKS FROM UNKNOWN PERSONS

BRING IT TO THE BANK AND HAVE THEM INVESTIGATE IT ...LET THEM CALL THE BANK AND SEE IF IT IS LEGITIMATE

Be Careful ! That's a scam. People do that to get your personal information. Especially those on ebay.  I can guarantee you that the check is a Fake!.

Even if your bank verifies that the check is drawn on a legit account and your bank releases the funds to you, it could still bounce.  Counterfeit checks can take a couple months to come back.
