  1. Six weeks is too early for a puppy to be taken from it's mother!

  2. much to early

  3. If you have her away from her mother already and she hasn't had any vaccinations, then you should take her to the vet for her first shots and wormer.

  4. As you obviously got the pup from a bad breeder you need to take the pup to the vet for a checkup first. The vet will than tell you when to vaccinate.

  5. We just got two shihtzu puppies 3 months aga, and we got them at five weeks. I'd wait until they are about 2  months old, and then take them. That's what we did.

  6. This is way too early to take a pup away from it's mother.  However, to answer your question, no, it is not too early to be vaccinated.  The pup should have a vaccine that does NOT include lepto unless otherwise recommended by your vet.  I use Progard 5 vaccine (by Intervet) and have very good luck with not having any reactions on young puppies.  I would also recommend you take a fresh stool sample from your pup with you when you go to the vet.  He can analyze it and let you know if your puppy has worms and needs to be treated.  Better to do both at the same time since you got such a young pup.

  7. 6 weeks is when the first vaccinations should be done; however it should have been done by the breeder, seeing as puppies aren't supposed to leave mom until 8 weeks.  You need to contact the breeder and find out if the first set of shots was given.  Either way, the pup needs a vet check to make sure it's healthy,
