I just got a blackberry curve and i cant get the media manager to open, does anyone know what i can do?

im running BBDM verison 4.2.2.14 and the other functions of it seem to work fine. when i click on the media manager the orange roxio screen shows up and then disappears and the program itself never opens. im also running on windows XP with the SP2. please help!
