  1. The Canon FS100 is a flash memory based, standard definition, camcorder.

    We could go through lots of troubleshooting and changing preferences so iPhoto does not automatically start, but it will be a lot easier to just take the memory card out of the camcorder and put it in a card reader connected to your Mac's USB port. Then, just copy the video files to the Mac.

    Last time I checked, iMovie will not recognize these files directly. You need to download and install StreamClip

    It is free... Open the transferred video files in StreamClip, export as .mov (QuickTime) or DV format... THEN drag/drop to iMovie timeline or clips pane... or to FinalCut...
