I just got a cockatiel today and i have 4 cats will he die from the stress of them?

I have 8 birds and 3 cats. My cats were interested in my birds but realized my birds weren't like wild ones. They would actually bite back. The cats don't bother my birds.  But I don't ever leave them alone. Or my birds out when I am not present. Although now I can leave the cats and birds inside the house alone as long as the birds are in their cages.

Your bird won't die of stress just give it lots of love.

A birds brain is wired for possible threats and as long as your cats do not have access to your bird, it should be fine.

just keep them seperated... the cockatail wont die from stress but he will resent you until you seperate them and give him some time.. he will eventually become used to it

Cats are predators.  They will want to kill the bird 24 hours a day.  What were you thinking???

Keep the bird in a locked room - yours?  Do not allow the cats in the room.

Well first you should keep them separated. Then get them used to each other. But not all of the cats at the same time. Like you, the bird, and a different cat each in one room. See how they react. Just don't leave them alone.
