I just got a compound bow, i don't know anything about it.. how do i adjust the poundage?

Take it to a shop.  Most will do it free of charge.  Problem with a compound is the limbs are always under tension and the only way you can disassemble them is with a bow press.  When adjusting poundage with the limbs under tension you run the risk of having the bolt fail on you and you'll have limbs flying right into your eyes at very high speed.  Even if they don't hit your eyes, there's enough force there to break bones.
