  1. i think the 'i' stands for ieee1394 also known as a firewire port, some are 4pin,and some 6pin,if it is as i say you'll also need a firewire port on your comp.if you don't have a firewire port on your comp, then you'll have to fit a pci card with those ports on it,maybe get someone with comp.knowledge to check it out,or take it to pcworld, who will help, good luck!

  2. there must be a USB cable

  3. If you purchased the camera new, it should have come with the cable and a program to load it into the pc.

If not, and you have a "sd" card or similar, then you can get a card reader for around $15.00 to $20.00 that will hookup to your USB port and download pictures from that, and you can also get the program and usb cable from most camerasupply shops.

  4. Is this a digital camcorder? If it is, it came with a camera usb cord and software and that is what you use. Get a card reader, they are cheap and very handy to use. You would put the card from your camera in the reader and open the reader as a drive in MyComputer, then also open MyDocuments/MyPictures and drag and drop your photos into the file.

If it's a minidv camcorder then you need a firewire connection. Take it to bestbuy or somewhere that sells computer things and ask for a firewire cord and if you don't have a firewwire port on your laptop/pc then you will have to buy one and install it. Make sure your laptop has an empty bay for the firewire port.
