  1. Servers are not waitresses, they usually sit guests down at tables, not sure bout how much they make.  I

I have friends who at one point or another were servers, and their job is very minimal...be pleasant, smile, greet, etc. etc.

It beats having to multitask, (and i mean MULTITASK) when you work at McD's. or any other fast food chain.

Unfortunatley, today people expect to get paid top dollar for a minimum wage job,......thats why its a job and not a career.  It shud be a temp thing, such as while you go to school etc..

  2. You should have asked these questions at your interview!

    Servers are 'waitresses'

  3. um, its not really HARD but it deff takes getting used to, its is very stressful at times also.  You deff have to have the ability to multi task.. and even if u get "in the weeds" its a resturant term for being really busy, there will always be some one there to help you, or take a table off of your hands, you are the deciding factor in how much you make, always smile, keep drinks full, clear plates when they are done, you'll learn all the tricks to the trade.. and you'll make pretty good money, i make bank and only work 3 days a week sometimes 4... i work at carrabbas

o and yes servers ARE waiters or waitresses, they've changed the name over the years its easier that way

  4. Your job as a server will what you make of it. If you are open and friendly, and willing to take advice, you will do good, especially with tips. There might some mean people but that happens in any kind of job. This sort of job will get you ready for working with all kinds of people, maybe some you might become friends with. I know of at least a few stories where people have become attatched to their servers over a period of time, and have helped them with school and jobs later on. Good luck and remember to smile and be friendly!

  5. Not if you're in high school or college....I worked at target to put myself through. It sucked but I made it.
