  1. Yea, just ask the train station for a commuter pass. Or go to the website to get one. Most of them do have it.


  2. It's pretty hard to answer without more info.  Try the website of the train operator.  For example, in Silicon Valley you might go to www.caltrain.org where you would learn that they have discounts on 10 ride passes, monthly passes, annual passes, etc.

    But, you also need to ask at your new job. Some large employers are required to have programs to reduce traffic.  My employer would give me a free annual Caltrain pass if I would take Caltrain to work every day instead of driving.  Your new employer many offer incentives for commute alternatives.
