this kitten is so loving and always wants to cuddle right next to my face but the gas is killing me...What would cause this? I have taken the soft food away but it seems to have made no difference. I feed Iam's kitten food so it's not some generic brand. What can I do?

  1. She just needs time to adjust to the food. Make sure she isn't getting any table food from anyone.

  2. Hahah thats really funny..but erm try switching to dry food maybe that way when he gasses it out it wont smell as bad?

  3. maybe its the food you are giving it !

    maybe try some different food

  4. iams is a great pet food company and its not some cheap brand, but it might not agree with this particular kittens system. transition it over to some other "good" brand and see if it makes a difference. if that doesn't work i'd have a vets take a look at it.

  5. I had a kitten like that, turned out it had worms.

  6. if you giving milk to your kitten, that may cause a gas problem. I'd change the food and if  that don't help ask your vet.

  7. cats don't care about being polite, they just let 'er rip wherever they are. If their owners or anyone else happens to be in the drop zone, sucks for them. But if your cats seem uncomfortable or if they are having vomiting or diarrhea problems as well as gas, then a trip to the vet is in order. Usually, it's something they're eating. (Iams lead to nasty gas) A small change in diet usually clears up the problem once any other health issues have been ruled out.

  8. Actually, Iams is some generic food. It has a lot of terrible ingredients in it, its cheap, and can cause nasty gas because of those low quality ingredients. Try switching to something like Royal Canin, more expensive, but you'll have to feed less of it, and you'll have a gas free kitten.

  9. most likely its the food, or a change in the food ur giving it. Iams is actually a good brand to be using.  Ur kitten probibly just need more time to ajust to the changes in its food.

  10. Lots of cats and kittens cannot digest corn - and that's the main ingredient in most grocery store dry foods Iam's included.  Try feeding her a food free of corn as that may make a significant difference.  You'll need to go to the pet store though to find one.  Read the ingredients on the bag, and avoid both corn and corn meal.  If price is an issue, Petsmart's own Authority brand isn't really any more in price than Iams but a much better quality.  Same thing for Nutro.
