  1. dont make ur older cat jealous by playing excessively with the new cat. Make sure ur older cat knows you still think of them as #1. Keep the cats seperated until they get used to the idea of each other and then they can get along.

  2. I have had that issue before and probably took around one month for them to get use to each other.

Basically you need to work a lot show them that both are special for you.

  3. well we got a cat and like a week later we got this tiny kitten they were gonna be our barn cats. my sister and i were scared for our kitty and we wanted to take care of her inside, but we couldn't i don't know how long it took for the cats to get along, but now our older cat protects our younger cat but don't worry the older cat just wants to tell the kitten who's boss and who was there first.

  4. I was in this same situation about two months ago. I had a cat already (about a year old) when I brought home a kitten. At first the cat hissed and spit. She acted like a wild animal, I'd never seen her so mad before. She is the alpha kitty so was made that a kitten was invading on her space.

It took about 6-7 days for them to be the best buds ever. They play and tumble around like they've grown up together.

I would suggest keeping them separated for the first few days. They'll get used to smelling each other under the door, so it won't be as strange as just throwing them together in a room. They'll be friends in no time. Just be sure that you pet your older one a lot. She needs to know that you didn't get the kitten to replace her.
