I just got a kitten!?!?!

Question

this kitten is a month old, its mom died after giving birth =( ive only had it for a week or so but i dont know how to raise it. i give it food and cat milk and i have a litter box. wen i pet it, it wants to bite me or something and i get scared! and wen ever i pet it or scratch its head, he pulls back his head and tries to catch my hand as if its a toy

any advise on what to do or what this means

it doesn't mean he doesn't like u it just because he is so young he doesn't understand yet. ur bottle-feeding him right?

another method is when he bites or scrathces u is to push him away gently. its what his mother would do.

I think the kitten is just missing its family and is not yet used to you. Just give it some time and hopefully it will warm to you. Its not you it sounds like your doing everything right and you care for it a lot. Give it some time and let it know that you are the one feeding it. It will eventually warm to you. Hope my advice helped P.S. I have 3 cats and they were all like that at the start

By your kitten some toys it would like to play with because then it will start to trust you more. Gain the kittens trust by playing with it and having fun and sooner or later the kitten will not be biting you anymore :).

Just enjoy this playful behaviour. Its only 1 month old, its sooooo young, just cuddle him lots and play with him a lot too. Dont be scared of him, a 1 month old kitten doesnt have very big teeth or claws yet, so get him used to you patting him and picking him up while you have the chance. The boy cats have a tendency to be 'mummy's boys' so your going to have a beautiful relationship with him im sure.... just enjoy his company

that means your kitten is playful and because it wants to play with u so if i where u i would buy a toy for its and play as much as u can and cat does the same thing

Well you really should not be mothering this kitten as you have NO experience. But Im glad you took it under your wing. :)

Kittens need heat. You can go to the store and buy a large heat pad with thermostat. Kittens must have belly heat!

Feed with a baby bottle or something that it can suckle from.

And you cannot just go and grab. The baby probably is scared. It mommy died! It doesn't know what you are. Be slow and quiet. Try humming or singing to comfort it. Stroke it lightly with just one finger. Or it may think your grabbing it. Feel calm. If you feel nervous it will know it. Get it and old little stuffed animals or something to scratch at and so it has something to cuddle up to.

AND GIVE IT WATER NOT CAT MILK.!!!!  unless it milk replacer.

mom probibly died because there was another baby in its belly that could have been alive or dead but just never came out.

maybe you are slightly pulling his hair if he has long hair..

he must be a loving playful kitten

wanting to play but not hurt you.

if you touch it and he goes to bite

you say for example " no tilly."

use a tone to your voice and he

will learn to respect you.

i also recommend getting a like cat scratch post

with a stringy toy or something

or just simply get a bit of wood and tie a bit of string

to it. (=

Yeah your cat is playing with you, ring your local vets, theres always a helpful nurse to give u advise on how to raise a kitten, btw if your kitten is just eating solid food now and is fully weaned then cut out giving cat milk or u will end up with a FAT playful kitten

Give the kitten a chance to get to know you. Be gentle but don't allow bad behavior. Cats adapt quickly and respond well to love and caring. You two will be fine with a little time.
