  1. it will burn a little bit because it is like a large scrap on your shoulder that needs to heal. and no, please do NOT cover it. your tattoo needs to breath in order to heal right. your tattoo will be fine at night. just make sure to gently wash in the morning.

  2. its going to burn Little bit,Don't worry there is nothing wrong. I would only lightly cover it when you sleep or are working.Because it needs to breath. But you should only cover it for a couple of days. That's it.

  3. I have used A&D ointment for the first 2-3 days and then Lubriderm after that.  I haven't had any problems with burning or peeling with any of my tattoos.  Many artists have their preferences for aftercare, but sometimes products aren't right for some people.  You have to find the products and routine best for your body.

  4. Try another lotion. There may be something in there that your skin is having a bad reaction to. I always use Cocoa Butter on mine, and I hear Aveeno works really well.

I've always covered my tattoos at night with saran wrap and A&D ointment for the first three nights (only at night) and then let it breathe during the day. After those three nights are over I start putting lotion on it. You're not supposed to start with the lotion immediatly...this could be why your feeling a burning. You still have an opened wound and that's probably why it's burning....it hasn't started scabbing yet so it hasn't started healing yet.

  5. That is totally not good if it is burning.  I always use Lubriderm and I've never had an issue where my tattoo burned.  You can cover it with saran wrap, it'll keep it from sticking to your clothes, and also it'll sweat out any bacteria that could build up in the scabbing process.
