I just got a male guinea pig(9 weeks old) about a week ago he seems a little lonely should i get another one?

Yes, you should . And, as long as there is no blood or flying ball of fur, do not separate them. This is something they need to do to establish dominance.

You're very right, a guinea pig living by himself will get very lonely. They're herd animals that need to live in groups to be happy. If they are introduced properly they get along just fine, with some exceptions. Is your cage large enough? If the cage is smaller than 7.5 square feet they'll get very territorial. Your new guinea pig should be kept separated from the other for three weeks. If he isn't showing symptoms of illness after that period of time they can be introduced. Place them in a room where neither has been and leave them be for at least 30 minutes. Having a pile of hay or veggies in the room really helps as a distraction. If they get tired of arguing or just begin to get along, put them into a thoroughly cleaned cage together! Don't separate two guinea pigs unless one of them is bleeding!

It is a myth that two unrelated male piggies can't get along. With proper introductions and adequate cage space, there shouldn't be a problem. Good for you for doing what's best for your piggie!

Yes at the place where u got him if he was with any other piggies then i guess u should buy one of them cause he already gotten use to them o_O?
