It's really hyper and jumps around its cage and when I put my hand in to take out water, food, or to take him out he goes crazy and runs away. He will jump out of cage but his wing's came clipped so he flaps away from me and I have to chase him. How can I train him to trust me more and make him stop running away?

  2. ah sounds like a budige alright! its ok though, he just doesnt trust you yet, when u put your hand in his cage all he is thinking is ahh she is going to eat me! so he freaks, you hand to slowing hand tame your bird,    check out http://www.parrotcentral.net/how_to_tame... for good tips on how to handtame a bird   goodluck and if u have any questions feel free to email me

  3. its scared so you NEED to give it time to adjust!!!!!! I have TWO BUDGIES and when i got them they were so scared. you shouldnt force them to like you or anything. you need to take the parakeet out and it might bite but thats the only way it will get used to you.

(P.S) I WOULD HAVE GOTTEN ANOTHER BUDGIE IF I WERE YOU!!! ITS GOING TO BE VERY VERY LONELY BY ITSELF. IF YOU HAVE A KIND HEART I WOULD GO GET ONE SO IT COULD HAVE SOMEONE TO PLAY WITH!!!

  4. Please realize everything is strange to your budgie right now. Just let it be. Don't allow it to come out of the cage.It will take a few days  to settle down. Talk to it softly whenever you are near the cage. Meanwhile, every day at about the same day open the cage door & change the water, fill in the feed trays, clean the mess , speaking to it all the time & soon it would realize that you & your hand are friendly & not out to harm it. Once your budgie realizes it, you can go to the next step,-trainning "step-ups". You would need some patience but it is worth it. There are useful sites on the net which you may like to check out.Good luck to you & your budgie.

  5. It is long slow to train a bird, but it is great when you have training your bird. You must gain your birds trust and bond.

start by talking slowly & moving slowly to make your bird less scared. find which food treats your bird likes best then use that treat to bribe him into trusting you.

Some birds are scare of you hand, of when your hand are inside thier cage. you might want to use a stick when you teach your bird to step up, then get use your finger.

search for some web sites, there are many....good luck
