I just got a new parakeet today..............=D?

Question

wat can i do to tame it and how do i get it to not be afraid of me and let me touch him........................................

how do i get him out without flying or wat do i do to get it used to me and not to fly away and just sit on my shoulder or hair.......................................

how do i potty train him to go in the garbage can when he's out of his cage.......................................

one more thing how do u know if it's a girl or a boy................=D

Well i cant answer all of your questions, but i can help you with a few. some birds can take a few days to trust you, so until then it probably wont sit on your shoulder. Just keep picking it up and talking to it. I have two cockatiels and they only took about a day to sit on my shoulder. They're not potty trained, so cant help you with that! When birds are scared their natural instinct is to fly, so he just has to learn to trust you. So just kepp holding it and petting it. Hope that helps!! There are also a lot of bird books at Barnes & Noble :)

it takes a bit till it can trust you. You can take it to the pet store to clip it's wings and clip it's nails. it mater what type of bird it is to now if it is a girl or boy.
