  1. I guess the nasty little thing loves you.

  2. Uhhhh rats GROSS

  3. This means affection. Your rat likes and trusts you a lot. Give it little treats and build a really strong relationship with it  :)

    Rats are wonderful pets.

    Good luck.

  4. it only means that your pet, rat, wants to play with you.He is just making a move for you to notice him..it's maybe just an act of animal being sweet to its owner, such animals are dogs..

  5. Hehe, thats so normal... my pet rat use to do that all the time in tell he passed away.

  6. ok well, it probarbly thinks your food, some of my rats have done this in the past and all you have to do is wash your hands with non-frageranced soap before (and after) you play with it, also, when you feed it food out of your hands make a tch-tch noise or a soft whistle and say its name, it will know you only have food when you do this

  7. awwww

    it likes uuuuu

  8. its hungry/thirsty???

it wants to chew on something???

like a rodent chew stick thing.

  9. l*****g and nibbling are two types of grooming rats use.  If they are doing these it might mean that they accept you as a part of their rat community.  If they nibble too hard, squeak at them and they'll know.  Also, as someone mentioned earlier, rats will l**k you if they don't want you to touch/hold them.  Depends on the rat.  If you're a new rat owner I would absolutely suggest you buy Debbie Ducommun's Rats: Complete Care guide.  She really knows about rats and gives great advice.  Also visit Rat Guide http://ratguide.com.  I learned the hard way that there are things you need to know about owning a rat when my first rat died due to my ignorance of their illnesses.  Welcome to the rat lover's community.  :)

  10. People usually say that the rat "needs/likes the salt" or something else you have on your hands like soap or lotion, which may be true sometimes. Often, however, rats will l**k and nibble people as part of a social grooming ritual. It may show that they recognize you as a member of their family. Rats also tend to do it when nervous or frightened, especially if you are holding them tightly. (Rats choose to l**k you rather than biting to let you know they want you to let go.) It should not be punished or corrected. If a rat nibbles or licks where you'd rather they not, such as on your lips, ears (I've had rats bite my lobes hard enough to puncture them), armpits, etc., try using some sort of bitter deterrent (like bitter apple) or lemon juice or just keep them away from that part of your body.

  11. trying to turn you on.

  12. It's a sign of affection! Just like with dogs. He/she's grooming and kissing ya. I hope he/she has a same s*x friend? Rats are extremely social, it isn't fair to keep them alone!

  13. Maybe he wants to eat you up.. He likes you.. :)

  14. awww! cutee! i think ur rat likes u!! i dress up my pet rat!! and me and my friend made a super tiny lesh and took him for a walk up and down the driveway!!

  15. It's Just l*****g the salt off your skin that had deposited there from the day.

Grooming is a sign of affection.

    It means it trusts you!

  16. it wants to get sexual with you .................use protection

  17. Rats are just naturally curious and sometimes just like to give u their LOVE.....

if it annoys you, you can always rub a bit of bad tasting stuff where it licks u and if it does, push it away....

the combination of the taste and the bad vibes will tell them not to do it.

  18. As stated, he likes you :3

But rats DO NOT need salt licks. Don't ever give them one >.>

  19. Your rat probably likes the salt on your skin (naturally occuring). Rats will nibble at your clothes, that's just what they do. Hopefully he's not doing it to your skin though.

  20. Its Normal

    I Have 2 Rats

    And They l**k And Bite(Nibble)

    They Need CHew Sticks

    Salt licks

    Alot Of Water

  21. it wants you!

  22. He's l*****g the salt off your hands or face. I had a rat that did that. and nibbling, just testing you to see how far it can go. :) In a nice way, he's "seeing" your texture and getting the sense of things.

My first rat did it all the time. As long as the l*****g isn't bugging you, and the nibbling isn't too rough, then I wouldn't care as much about

  23. it finds you tasty, sleep with one eye open

  24. awww he loves you

  25. it likes you.
