I just got a nitro rc car like 2 weeks ago and it's not shifting into 2nd gear what do u think i can do?

I own a Traxxas Revo, since I don’t know what type of nitro car you own I will tell you what I did to fix this problem. Two things I have done before, sometimes the fuel mixture in the carburetor is running too rich, not letting the engine get the RPM’s it needs to shift, I leaned (less fuel more air) my carburetor out and that let if shift. (Adjusting your card should be covered in your instruction book.)

Second the Revo has an adjustment for shifting on top of the transmission. On top of the transmission their is a little plug that looks like an oil plug, pop that off, and look inside you can see the gears. Their is an adjustment s***w inside their. I had to rotate the gear around until it lined up with the adjustment s***w, then used an allen wrench to turn the s***w. This should also be covered in your book somewhere. Again I don’t know what kind you have, so this info may or may not be helpful, good luck and have fun with it.
