Hi, I am a student at Queen's and I was on my way to my new house at university when I got a speeding ticket for going 135km/h on the highway (100km/limit). I am not sure what my options are at this point, but the fine is $265 and I gain 4 demerit points. I really can't afford the fine, or the increase in insurance that would ensue. Anyone have some advice?? PLEASE HELP!

  1. Well in some cases you can do a day at a drivers course and they still fine you but they don't put points on you license/.

  2. theres no way to get through a speeding ticket without paying it or proving somhow it wasnt you driving

  3. Well sometimes they have you be put on probations so that you can pay your fine in payments. As for the increase in fines you might want to take like some kind of defensive driving class to lower that.

  5. Since you have just admitted to going 35 km over the speed limit and getting a ticket for it, all you can do now is pay the ticket.

You were issued a ticket for a good reason.  You are being fined so that you won't speed anymore.  Speed kills, or didn't you know that?

  6. You got caught , pay up and touch the gas pedal a bit lighter in future
