I just got a speeding ticket. What are my options/chances?

I am 20 years old, and a little over a month ago, got my first speeding ticket (77 in a 60) on my way to work. It was my first citation and I have a high GPA so my insurance said my rates wouldn't go up. Therefore, I paid the fine, and planned on not speeding. Unfortunately, I got pulled over again (51 in a 35, although I'm positive I wasn't going that fast). As I'm a student and trying to build credit, I was hoping to keep my rates down. What would be a good option to pursue to keep my insurance rates down? I was told by a friend to enter a not guilty plea and hope for a plea bargain; however, he's never done that, so I don't know how it would work, and I also don't have much of a case if it actually goes to court.

Note: I know that I shouldn't have been speeding. I'm just asking for options.

  1. You may not be able to avoid a rate increase this time. I if you are going to plea - plea no low ( not guilty not innocent) if you plea not guilty and the cop shows to court you are going to be in worse shape. I'm surprised you didn't get a reckless driving for being that much over. I did the no low plea once and ended up just getting a heavy fine. You are treading on thin ice. You really need to slow down.

  2. i'm a student too and half a year ago I got a ticket for driving without a licence (only permit). They sent me to a court about 10 miles away from campus, and the person you see before going to court (don't know whats called) asked me if a was a student and after i said yes he just revoked my ticket and said your good to go...i was surprised but dunno maybe it works for you...it also depends on which state your from.

  3. if the cop that pulled you over wasnt wearing a full unirform the ticket is void.

  4. Sell your car and walk
