I just got a tattoo and i have a few questions...?

I got my tattoo on my right side 2 days ago...it's really small right under where my bra strap lies. It is really sore, also I was wondering why you aren't supposed to used scented soap to clean the tattoo. Another thing I was wondering is how long should I go before I can wear a regular bra.

I really don't want to get an infection or anything. It's so sore.

the scented lotions and soaps take out the color. a good unscented soap that i use is dove, its a little on the expensive side but i like it. you shouldnt wear a regular bra until its completley healed, that way your bra doesnt snag off the scabs that are coming off.

wait 2 weeks before wearing anything that rubs up against it. and scented soap will irritate it. clean up four or more times a day and use warm water and anti bactiral soap to clean it then PAT it dry...do not scrub at it. and DO NOT pick at. let the scabs fall off on their own. after you wash it put  a dabCUREL FARGRENCE FREE lotion on it and rub it in. if you do all this your tat will look perfect in a couple weeks :)

Well chemicals used for scents and color and stuff can irritate the skin.  Use dial or Cethaphil or Dove.  Use your hand not a washcloth.

Ways to avoid infection:

avoid touching it and make sure you wear a clean bra and shirt every day

Also, Im sure they told you this but make sure to keep it moisturized, I use Aquaphor, it's awesome.

It should peel in about...2 or 3 more days and then it wil be less sore and you can probably wear a real bra comfortably.

Also make sure you dont scratch it.

it is sore because that is a tender area.  it's also likely that you haven't followed your care instructions as well as possible.  

using scented soaps can cause irritation and they usually have a high alcohol content which causes the skin to dry up and the tattoo to fade.  i would recomend using a very light coating of A and D ointment after every wash (three to four times daily).  once the tattoo starts to peel like a sunburn, start using an unscented lotion (Vaseline Intensive Care is my preference) about once or twice a day.  i would recomend waiting until the tatto heals completely before putting your usual underwire-bra back in to use.

Try using dove soap or pear soap any soap that says sensitive skin or you also can use baby soap on that area but try not to get you tattoo wet the fist week.

most tattoos take about 2 -3 weeks to heal use a&d its works the best. also when you dry it pat it dry don't rub it should start to feel better with in a week make sure you always keep Putin on the a&d

As far as I understand it, anything with fragrance has a high chance of irritating it. It's basically a wound that is healing, so you don't want to put anything on it that might cause a reaction. So just stick with something mild... and all that other stuff that the artist should've told you. I actually use Soft Soap and haven't had any problems.

And I was told that smaller tattoos will generally completely heal, on average, in about two or three weeks. Depends on the person. So I'd wait at least a few days after it stops being tender.

I got a small one on my lower tummy and didn't wear anything that would rub it for the first two weeks.

For some info that's more... solid, I guess... you should go back to your artist and ask. Aftercare instructions really vary from person to person.

You don't use regular scented soap because the fragrance will irritate it.  Irritated tattoos aren't pretty and don't heal well.  You wanna wait until it's healed to wear a regular bra to avoid any irritation and scarring it can cause.  Tattoos generally take 2-3 weeks to heal.

when i got my tattoo it healed in about 4 to 6 weeks and you aren't supose to use scented soap cause the chemicals and i would wait for a while till your tattoo heals to wear a regular bra
