I just got a tattoo today and..?

Question

the tattoo isn't oozing or raised like everyone said it would be. Should I be concerned about this? Also, what kind of soap am I supposed to wash with?

oh and any antibacterial soap would do.

just make sure it is unscented, because that

can really irritate your skin and actually infect it.

Tattoo Goo makes good cleaning supplies for tattoos and piercings- I used it for my lip rings and ear piercings, its available on amazon.com, or at a lot of places that sell piercing and tattoo stuff if not your tattoo parlor. My friend got hers a week ago, your lucky, hers was so swollen- it looked terrible.

They don't ooze they bleed or seep. If it's not then it probably means you are a quick healer or it may just take a day or 2. You should use protat to stop it from drying up and cracking while it scabs up. You can use any soap but remember to put protat cream or moisturizer on afterwards.

go to the pharmacy at your local target and ask for green soap tincture...they will prob have to order it so it will take a day...you should have thought of this BEFORE you got a tattoo!!!

I wouldn't be too concerned about the oozing! I've had one tattoo done so far, and it never oozed.

You should really wash the tattoo with an un-scented anti-bacterial soap when the tattoo is dry. I would personally recommend Dial, Tone, or Dove soap. You also need to make sure you apply a tattoo ointment the first 2 weeks or so, after you have washed the tattoo. I really like "Tattoo Goo" and "Ink Fix Ointment". I copied and pasted a really good website for you below that sells "Tattoo Goo" products. If you go to it, and then click on "aftercare" at the top, there should be a link that connects you to an aftercare video. It really helped me and I also bought this really good aftercare kit for my next tattoo. It was only $22 or something with shipping and handling. You might want to purchase it too. It's ok that its not oozing. Use a mild soap. Lightly wash it and pat dry.
