I just got a used 52 inch HD TV. Everything worked when I picked it up from the person?

and i got it safely home, but now after plugging it in, the sound is not on. What things can I check (I think I checked it all out but probably it is something stupid) to try to get the sound to work?

you should contact the vendors the people who sold  it to you ,you should have a way to contact tthese people and make sure  the speakers aren't busted make sure you recheck because it could be very small like you said make nothing was on top of it in the car, make sure the volume on the tv or tv menu is up make sure your on the right channel as far ss the renote control there shold be an hd button check that or the yuv and make sure your cable box/dvr is also on the right channel make sure the audio video cables are plugged in if is required and you can usually find if ther needed from your cable company

check the volume, the mute, maybe the speakers were separate from the system, maybe the program has no sound.
