  1. it MUST be from iTunes, iTunes puts all your songs into special folders on your iPod so it can be recognised by the iPod, for example iTunes renames it TJVH but the song name will appear correctly on the iPod and on your computer, dragging it straight to the iPod will do nothing, to get songs in iTunes, form iTunes press file add folder to library, then select the folder with all your music (it will take a while to process though)

  2. No, read the manual.

  3. There are three ways to get songs onto your iPod.  All require installation of iTunes.*

    a. Download from the iTunes Music Store (click on "iTunes Store" along the left-side column.)  Either purchase songs, or indulge in the "free on iTunes" offerings.

    b. Insert a CD into the drive, click on "Import CD" when the button appears on the lower right.

    c. Import existing music.  Drag any music files you have into the iTunes window.  iTunes will make a copy of it in its library.  You can now delete those files, or keep a copy of them somewhere "just in case.")

*(There are other non-Apple-endorsed ways, but for your interests, stick with iTunes.)

  4. Congratulations first for being a proud owner of iPod nano. Well you've to transfer songs using iTunes only. You've two options...one is to purchase songs from iTunes. For this, you've to open iTunes store (internet connection required) and register your iPod there. Then you've to choose your favourite song and pay for it. Then you can download it tor iPod or you can transfer songs you've in your cd's. Second option is you can download songs from internet and transfer them to your pc. Transferring songs to iPod isn't a big deal. Just download latest iTunes version from apple website and install it in your pc. Connect your iPod using USB cable provided and wait for the iTunes to recognise your iPod. Then you can choose one of the above said options and paste the songs in iTunes library. Then sync your songs to iPod and after syncing is completed, you can disconnect your iPod and enjoy listening to your favourite songs in your favourite iPod. Good Luck!
