I just got another computer in my house?

i just got another computer in my house nd i hav a wireless router too but i dont know how to link it to it. i have insight bb too so i cant hook it up to the phone jak either. help

i have a desktop and a laptop.

i called my internet provider and they talked me though how to set it up over the phone

so you could try that :]

oh and i have the wireless router too

download network magic...go to google and type in: network magic.

install it...and open the network to any nearby computers...

If that doesn't work...buy a wireless adaptor for your new computer...

You're going to have to purchase a wireless card for this new PC.

If it is a desktop look for a PCI card and install it yourself or have someone install it for you. Going to Best Buy or Circuit City or a like store is your best bet. They not only sell these card they also install them.

The same can be said for a laptop, but chances are if it really is a brand new laptop it will have wireless built in. Use your manual to find directions on how to configure it.

buy wifi recievers for both system, this is the best way out.

if u connect them using lan one have to be always running and many other problems..

So, you have two computers and one wireless router, correct? One of the computers is already connected to the router and the other you wish to connect, right?

The easiest way to connect to the router is by wiring an ethernet cable from the computer to the router. However, if the distance is large or the wire would have to cross hallways, etc., you can connect wirelessly to the router. You will have to have a wireless adapter for the new computer to do this. To see if you have one just take a look at the back of the new computer, if you see an antenna poking out the back then you probably have a wireless adapter already installed on your computer. If you do not, then you need to go purchase one. From there you should be able to follow the instructions included with the adapter to install and connect to your router.
