help! my teeth hurt so bad. i need to know what to do to make them feel better. please, they are aching

i tried tylenol

but is there anything special you did?

like drink hot tea or something?

  1. chew on hard HARD foods! for some weird reason this feelz alot better!!


  2. aww hun! ugh braces, been through that.

    Basically, it'll hurt for that day and the day after, but trust me, 2 days max you'll feel the pain!

    Don't do tylenol, take excedrin gel tablets, it works better. that or alieve gel tablets.

    Take an ice cube and stick one in each cheek and focus on the coolness of it. Bite down a little, BUT NOT A LOT! you don't wanna mess up the braces, so don't try to break the ice, just teether basically.

    Find out if soft foods or hard foods feel better for you.

    I found out that drinking freezing cold drinks and chewing mushy foods worked best for me. Eat a banana or grapes, even maybe mashed potatoes, ice pops, or anything that just coats your mouth and has little pressure on your teeth.

    I'm sorry about the pain! Give it a day, try to take a nap or get active and stay busy. Just try to forget about the pain!

    Just remember your ultimate goal: that perfect smile!

    I got to the point where I just wanted to ditch the braces, but I stuck through it and now I'm so happy with my smile, so think about that!!

    P.S. About a month after I got my braces, I broke a bracket eating a slice of really good pizza. Be careful how you eat, it hurts all over again for a few hours if you have to go to the dentist and get a bracket put back on ]: But don't let dentists scare you: yes, you CAN chew gum. Bubble gum might get stuck a little, but nothing totally embarrassing or anything! Stride and 5 gum doesn't get stuck, try those, aha! They even feel REALLY good to chew when your teeth are in pain, so if you have a stick, chew it now!!

    smoothes, ice cream stuff like that

    thats pretty much all i did

    didn't make the pain totally go away but it helped

  5. pain tablets, yes, slept a lot, but make sure you clean properly everyday otherwise your teeth will be different colour when they come off

    you just have to go through the pain for about 3-4 days .

    get ready cus every month they change the colors the same thing will happen .


  7. eat soft foods (soup, apple sauce, etc) and in my little kit of braces supplies, i got a biting wafer thing. it is supposed to help ease away the pain. and also you just have to let it stop hurting on its own. it will after like 3-4 days. it varies from person to person. i've had braces twice.

  8. I know exactly what your feeling. When I had braces I even lost weight because it was so painful to eat. I would suggest eating food which is soft and doesn't require must chewing because that would be more painful. I can only suggest pain medication.That is how I dealt with it. The strange thing is my sister and father had no pain when they had braces. I guess it is different with each person. Don't worry the begining will be the most challenging but then it will get better.

  10. ohh, the infamous after-pain..yup, it was really bad for me..the orthodontist gave me a little tube with novocain-like substance that you could put on your gums...maybe you could ask him for some, pretty sure he has it but just forgot to give it to you..or see if a pharmacy has it..yea, drinking really cold drinks helped me but make sure you wash ALL the sugar from your teeth afterwards..and FLOSS..that's a biggie alotta people ignore..basically, ya kinda have to stick it out. Whatever doesn't kill you only makes you stronger!  

  11. there isnt really any thing to do i got mine agust 12th and i held VERY cold ice water in my mouth...mine stoped hurting in 3 days

  12. aye I know how you feel. I still got mine on and I got them 2 years ago. When they first put them on, you'll suffer for atleast 3 days.

    Trust me nothing will help. No tea nothing. that might make it worse. just relax, it will be uncomfortable but youll get used to it. Just drink soup and eat soft foods, (i always had me icecream)

    give it atleast 2 weeks u wont even notice dem. tynenol /advil wont really help though, so u gotta tough out the pain. feel better & may Allah bless u girl.
