  1. paracetamol

    and plenty of cold water

you will probably find it difficult to chew solid food for up to a week(it helps to like soup), but luckily the pain goes away after this :)

also getting them tightened wont hurt as much after having them on for a couple of months, as your teeth will have already moved most of the way that they will move.

  2. I use Tylenol I works very well for me but never use that wax stuff they give you it just falls out and doesn't work

  3. make sure you're taking advil liquidgels

    or motrin helps

    or also just ibuprofin

  4. advil? when I had my braces (I'm assuming you have tracks) I was told to try and get some of this wax stuff from the dentist or wherever and you warm it up at night and put it over your braces. gives the inside of your cheeks a rest.

Also, you can get these little cases of hard wax that you can put at the end (by your back teeth) where the extra bit of wire comes out. Apart from that, when you get your brace put on or when you get it tightened there is not much you can do, apart from paracetemol or ibuprofin (sorry for my bad spelling!).

Anyway, the pain is worth it for the end result!
