I hear fabric softener decreases their ability to absorb well. How do I keep my new towels just as soft without using any fabric softener? Thanks!

  1. If you dry them in the dryer they will be soft.  If you line dry outside then put them in the dryer for about 10 minutes to soften up.  Some towels do tend to go hard but if you buy the Egyptian cotton ones they will be ok providing you use the 10 minute dryer trick after line drying.

  2. add 1 cup of vinegar to the wash load when washing your towels.the vinegar should keep them smlling nice and soft.

  3. I fill the bleach dispenser with vinegar and add about 1/3 cup of baking soda with your regular detergent.  I use All and they come out of the washer smelling great.  Place them in the dryer on medium heat and they will dry thoroughly and evenly and will still come out soft and still smell great.
