Question:

I just got contacts, any suggestions to make them more comfortable?

Usually, one eye gets blurry, the other clear, or both blurry, rarely clear. and it always feels like something is in my eye! Help!

  1. No matter how you feel about it, contacts are still a foreign object in your eye.  You do get used to it after awhile.  Your body tries to eject foreign objects from your eyes by tears, and tears aren't just water.  They lubricate your eyes, too, so sometimes tears are thicker than other times.  The opposite also happens to some people when their eyes become too dry and irritable.  Then the lens becomes less soft and distorted.

    Either way, I've experienced what you describe and my solution was eyedrops for contact users.  Don't use general purpose eyedrops, but the ones made for contact users.  Use them often at first, if necessary (no such thing as overuse, just cost of the drops).  They'll help keep the contacts soft, wash the excess tears from your eyes, and sooth them as well if they tend to dryness.
