  1. There are products that remove soft contact lenses.  I use the DMV soft lens handler.  This tool can be used to insert and remove your lenses.  I use it because I like having long nails and it makes it much easier.

  2. you can't use anything to take them off, but don't panic! It's going to get easier and eventually you'll be able to do it without a second thought.  Until that day comes, here's the best way i can think of:

Look in the mirror so that you can see your eyes/contacts.  Use your pointer finger to kind of poke the center of your contact (it doesnt hurt since you're not actually poking your eye), and pull it downward just a little.  Then use your other two fingers (thumb and middle) to grasp near the sides (don't try to actually grab the outside of the contact, as far as i know that doesnt really work) and pinch it inward.  The contact should come loose - you almost feel it pop off - and lies in between your thumb and middle finger. Voila!

If you have long nails, its more difficult. Try to remember to use the pads of your fingers/fingertips, not your nails.

Don't be afraid to get in there! It shouldn't really hurt since the contacts sort of protect your eye. And the worst thing that happens is you tear it...

If you really can't get it out, is there a chance one of your parents or older siblings (if you have any) has contacts? They might be able to give you tips or even take them out for you the first few times if youre desperate.  Good luck! You'll get the hang of it.

  3. Patience.  Really, that's all.  The more you practice, the easier it is.  For me, I think it took 6 months of practice or longer before I could get them out with no problem.  Even now, sometimes it takes a few tries.  It's worth it though!
