  1. It really depends on how many people you plan on inviting and your budget.  If its a small group then go to your favorite restaurant.  If its going to be a large group you may have to rent a banquet hall.

  2. I would say a restaurant.  Look around your area for a restaurant that has a large side room or private party area, or even just allows large party reservations, for you and your guests.  You've spent a lot of time and money on the actual wedding reception, so no one will mind going to a restaurant for your dinner. Plus, if you choose a favorite restaurant of you and your fiance, then it adds a personal flair to the occasion.

  3. Restaurant or at home, a hall is too formal.

  4. first off congrats. i also got engaged 2 weeks ago. we are having party in a rec hall. why not. it's cheap have family members bright a covered dish. get a dj and 2 barrels of beer and 10 bottles of captain morgan!

  5. The catering hall would be ideal for a larger party.

The restaurant would be ideal for less than 75 people or less.

I think you will be happier with either.

http://www.theknot.com is a great website for engagements and weddings. You can possibly find sources to figure out exactly what you want!

    Congrats on the engagement!

  6. Restaurant, catering halls  tend to give you less choices of not as well made food and they can be more expensive. The only way I would say to go with the catering hall is if you have 100+ people (which I would think you wouldn't).

  7. restaurant

  8. All depends on how the two of you are and your friends and family... as in if yur family and friends are the type to "throw down" prob a party hall or catering hall, if it's more calm and relaxed id say a resteraunt.

  9. Depends on how many people you invite. If you have a few hundred guests, a catering hall will be perfect. If you have a dozen or so, a restaurant is fine.

  10. were ever you want. think of the expense, and how many people you will be inviting. You can even do a BBQ in the back yard if it is big enough. I did mine in a small hall and my parent provided all the food and sweets. Plus Back yard BBQ are more special and intimate. and cheaper!

  11. red lobster,go to a restaurant not a hall for that.get a hall for the wedding party.
