I posted a question on here earlier today because I was going for my first ultrasound and I just mentionned how sick I have been feeling this whole pregnancy, And I went for my ultrasound , I am due February 26th and the ultrasound technician told me that there are two heartbeats and that I am having twins. I am really nervous, anxious and just happy, but soo nervous. Twins run in my family but I never thought I would actually have twins myself. I already have a 3 year old daughter and now twins ! I'm going back for a second ultrasound in 6 weeks so I'll find out the s*x than but what are differences in pregnancy with twins than with one child ? And I'm so happy !!

  1. I have never had twins, but just wanted to say CONGRATs!!!!!!!!

  2. Uff, i would be so thrilled if I had twins.. But yes they are different than a single pregnancy. Most twin pregnancies have to end a month before a normal one... they would have to be born at about 8 months gestation... You would need a lot more nutrients than a single baby, because 2 obviously need more nutrients than one.... Other than that, nothing else i guess. You might feel more nauseous or more tired than a single pregnancy, but it mostly has to do with how you eat or something.. Congrats!! Its fun shopping for twins!!

  3. Pregnancy with twins men you will gain more weight

  4. How exciting!! I am a twin and I actually wanted twins, I am only having one..lol We are 20 weeks right now. I have heard that you get things doubled with twins, I don't know for sure. My mom was huge when she was pregnant with me and my sister. I just wanted to tell you how happy I am for you!

  5. congratulation you are very lucky. i have not had twins but i have heard they come earlier than a single baby, you will get really big and you may have to see your midwife more and have more ultra sans. wishing you the best of luck.keeps us posted on the s*x of the twins. do you no if they are identicalal? i would love twins.

  6. Oh baby, you are having two babies! Me too and our due dates are not that far apart from one another.

I was sick with hyperemesis throughout my first trimester and part of the second. The doctor prescribed zofran and phenergan for anti-nausea, which helped a little bit. It's best to talk with your doctor and let him/her know of your symptoms. They usually offer pretty good solutions.

I stayed in bed a lot and that helped too. I eat a lot of fruit, which your stomach can handle much better than a hamburger.;)

Good luck mama and don't worry. This is your destiny and everything will fall into place before you know it. I was so nervous when I found out, but now I realize that this is my chosen path and I was meant to have twins.

Take it easy, everything will be fine. Good luck and congratulations!

  7. I also didn't find out I was having twins until my ultrasound. Twins run in my family to but it didn't occur to me that I would have twins. I had very few complications(placenta previa) and delivered twin boys almost 2 years ago.  I also had a son who was 4 at the time and he loved to tell anyone who would listen that he was having 2 babies. Don't be afraid to ask for help now and when the babies come and good luck!!

  8. Lucky!  I wish I could have twins.  Pretty much with a twin pregnancy all of your symptoms will be worse...more sick, more tired, more hungry, more sore, etc.  You have to gain more weight and get more nutrition.  Also your chances of problems are higher, unfortunately.  Usually a c-section is required.  And you do deliver much earlier and your babies may have to be in the ICU for a while.  You have to be monitored more often, have more doctor's visits and ultrasounds.  And obviously when they are born you need two of everything, including two sets of hands.  Good luck!  And congrats.  I'm sure your doctor will let you know everything you need to know.

  9. LOL.

I just found out a couple weeks ago.  I found out at 17 wks that I was having not only twins but boys.  I had no clue until then that I was having twins. LOL.

Now I'm 19 wks and I've gotten used to it.  I already have a 14 month old baby boy.  So I'm going to have my hands full.

Congrats on the twins. Did they say if they were fraternal or identical?  Mine are fraternal (runs in the family also).
