  2. Hey im just getting into boxing as well but i kno some of the basics. So ur wondering how u want to fight in boxing? Well first and most start off with your stance. Its the foundation of boxing. You can't box if you don't have good form and balance so make sure your stance is correct. Ok so are you left handed or right handed? Ex. if your right handed, your left hand and leg should be in front of you while ur power hand which is your right should be behind the left hand and should be covering the right side of your jaw/chin. Your knees should be slightly bent for balance and proper movement and make sure to have your right heel a little of the ground so u can easily step back or move to the side if an opponent rushes you. Stay on the balls of your feet as well. Your elbows should be tucked into your body covering your ribcage and your shoulders should be slightly lifted to cover the chin. Be relaxed in your stance, never tense up(a good rule to remember in boxing or anyother sport is to relax and remain calm). You can't fight well if you're gonna blow up on someone because before you kno it you'll be knocked out alredy.

  3. by going to a club, its the only way.

if I gave the strongest toughest guy in the world a tennis racket and told him to train himself he would never be able to beat a proper tennis player.

In fact a 14 year old girl tennis player would still serve faster than him.think about that.

boxing is technique taught by a coach, applied during sparring, with varied opponents.

Nothing else works sorry. The good news is a few lessons and you can whip anyone on the street :)

  4. matt has the right idea.  there's nothing like ACTUALLY going into the gym.  no video or anything will come close.

here's a starting point for gym research.

  5. try looking up local boxing gyms for your area as visual demonstrations will be best
