had a leep procedure and she still issued the?policy. I've been doing some research online and I found out that I didn't have a leep, but I had laser surgery instead. Should I call the underwriter back and tell her I did some research and that I think I had laser surgery and not a leep? I think I had the laser surgey because I was put to sleep and the surgery was outpatient and lasted like 45 minutes and I read that with the leap procedure you are awake.

  1. I would not say anything.  It really doesn’t matter whether it was a leep procedure or laser surgery. Humana is looking at the type of condition you were treated for and not the actual procedure itself.  You answered to the best of your knowledge and since you are not a medical professional you would have no way of knowing what the difference is.

  2. It probably won't make any difference. If the policy was issued, it really doesn't matter. But request your medical records and see. If what you had was not what you told the insurance, you could submit your records for consideration to the underwriting department.

I can tell you from personal experience, a leep procedure is done while under anesthesia.

  3. I'm not going to advise what you should do since I don't know the whole story.  And, if you went through a broker (like you should have - since they're your advocate and costs nothing to use) they would be better suited to answer the question.

However, I will say that you told her what you thought was the truth to the best of your knowledge at the time.
