Something really really soft, because I'm having massive amounts of pain, and I can't chew anything.

Please don't make the recipie too complicated.

  1. I feel your pain. I went through the adjustments for 3 long years. Now it's my daughter's turn.

You could try recipes from a toddler website..just remember to add some salt, since they usually leave it out.

Here's a recipe for you to try..

    **Broccoli Casserole**

    1 -  10oz. package frozen chopped broccoli

    1 c.  uncooked brown rice

    1 T.  olive oil

    ½ t.  salt

    2 c.  water

    1 T.  butter

    1 T.  flour

    1½ c.  milk

¾ c.  shredded cheddar cheese, plus additional for

    topping

    Salt and pepper

    Preheat oven to 350°

Thaw broccoli according to package directions.

In a medium saucepan, combine brown rice, olive oil,

water, and salt.  Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and

cover, simmering for 40 minutes or until tender.

In another medium saucepan, melt the butter over

medium heat.  Add the flour and stir until well combined.

Stir in the milk.  Continue to cook, stirring constantly,

until thickened and bubbly.  Add the cheddar cheese

and stir until combined.  Remove from heat, and add

    salt and pepper to taste.

In a large bowl, combine the cheese sauce, rice, and

broccoli.  Spoon into a casserole dish and sprinkle with

shredded cheddar cheese.  Bake for 20-30 minutes,

    until bubbly.

  6. Soft centred chocolate pudding

    Makes 8

    Preparation time 1-2 hours

Cooking time 10 to 30 mins

This is a really s**y recipe with a liquid centre, great with ice cream or clotted cream.

    Ingredients

240g/9oz 66% cocoa quality dark chocolate

    240g/9oz butter

    8 egg yolks

    4 egg whites

½ cup (tea cup size) sugar

4 tsp rice or corn flour

    For the liquid filling:

150ml/5fl oz hot espresso or strong instant coffee

    150ml/5fl oz milk chocolate

    Method

    1. Firstly, make the liquid filling by melting the chocolate in the hot coffee and pouring into ice cube trays to about ¾ full. Freeze until required.

    2. Generously butter 8 individual souffli moulds and set aside.

    3. Melt the 66% chocolate with the butter in a bowl over hot water then remove from the heat.

    4. Beat together the yolks and sugar until light and fluffy and then combine with the melted chocolate. Sift the flour into the mixture.

    5. Whisk the egg whites to soft peaks then fold into the chocolate mix and stand for approximately 1 hour. (Make in advance).

    6. Spoon some chocolate mix into the moulds to come to about ¼ full, then unmould the ice cubes and place one in the centre of each pudding. Now fill the mould up to ¾ full with more chocolate mix.

    7. Bake at 180C/350F/Gas 4 for 10-12 minutes until the puddings rise. Remove and let rest for a couple of minutes then turn out onto a serving plate. Dust with cocoa or icing sugar and serve.

  7. Mm, I remember when I got my tonsils removed. The tastiest thing to me were those instant mashed potatoes, easy to prepare and they come in a variety of assorted flavors.

Likewise, you could also do sweet potatoes for something more sweet.

  8. This is technically not a recipe, but helped me out when I had braces... Instant Potatoes!  You just add milk, water, salt and butter to the potato flakes and you have soft, creamy mashed potatoes.  They don't require chewing, and they won't cause you anymore pain.

    Feel better :o)

  9. you can just eat some really good pudding or soup

    also mashed potatos

I know what you are going through I had major facial jaw reconstruction surgery almost 2 years ago and couldnt eat whole solid foods for about a month.  I could only eat soft foods so I ate:

    milkshakes

    mashed potatos

    pudding

    soup

    coffee haha I love coffee

I could even eat rice I just didnt chew it

    ice cream too

    hope I helped

  10. Soup! :-)

Or a nice one (loaded with about a gazillion calories though) is this:

Boil some potatoes until soft, add butter and mash up. Spread some about 1" thick in the bottom of an oven proof dish (I use a casserole dish). Then grate some cheese over the top, just a thin layer. Chop up some bacon and add this too. Then add half an inch of mashed potato again. Add more chopped bacon, onion and cheese to top. Stick it in the oven for 10minutes and viola :-)

For interest, you can add herbs etc. to the mashed potato :-)
