I just got my braces to days ago and my teeth are so sore I can't play my trumpet.?

I'm in eighth grade band and the pressure from the trumpet hurts my teeth. I only have the braces on the top. Is the pain going to stop, and is there anything I can do to make it better?

It will go away. As to how long no one knows because it is different for everyone. You can always take a pain reliever like Tylenol or advil.

You can get red wax from your orthodontist that helps a lot, but you also have to be careful about your tone and lip vibration. Try the wax and buzz on your mouthpiece to see whether both your lips are vibrating around the same amount, because the unevenness can make your top lip vibrate less.

Yes, of course the pain will go away.  Eventually your teeth will only hurt when your braces are tightened.  I remember my teeth being sore for 2-3 days after I had my braces put on.
