so i just got my cartilage pierced yesterday. (the top of my ear for those that done know.) and i want to change it to a ring before school starts. right now it is a stud. and i wanted to change it in three weeks.

even though the person said 8 weeks. i know a big difference buttt.. if i cleaned the ring with the solution sutff she gave me, and then quickly put it in; would it do anything?? cause i really want a ring before school starts since u can hardly see the stud..

  1. it wouldnt really change much. your ear just might be more sensative with the ring in. you could wear the ring during the day but i wouldn't sleep with it in for a while.

  2. it took me over a year to get a ring up in my cartilage. you can try it, but your hole will get smaller and it will curve!! then you can never get another stud in it. i cleaned mine with the solution twice a day and it still hurt. your better off just to wait!!

  3. The stud lets the hole heal in a bigger size. If you use the ring the hole will heal smaller and you won't be able to use a stud later if you want to because the hole will be too small.

  4. You're not supposed to change it until 8-12 wks. I changed mine at 4 weeks and it got infected, it was horrible. I almost started developing a keloid, which is a disgusting red bump that stays there for about 4 months. I suggest you don't change it, just to be safe.
